THE TRUEST FORM OF STRENGTH IS FOUND IN BODY WEIGHT TRAINING. IT IS FUNDAMENTAL TO FITNESS!

"We were born to move, and mobility and stability are an essential part of the way we move and life in general,” 

The GREEN MILE Body weight and calisthenics classes focus on the fundamentals such as-

Push-ups, Pull-ups, Sit-ups, Rope climbing technique, dips, and flexibility, but also programs such as muscle up progression or handstand workshops bring an element of physical awareness that is untouched in other areas of training. 

AIM AND BENEFIT TO MEMBERS:

There's no getting around it: bodyweight exercises are the foundation of which solid gains are built on.

"The movements involved in bodyweight exercises can help to increase that mobility and challenge the body's 'stabilisers' by using complete movements. This can in turn, lead to strength gains used in everyday life not just in the gym."

Being able to lift or pull your own body weight is a fundamental life skill everyone should have.

ABILITY

Our Bodyweight classes are for ANY ability, "Whether you're starting at zero and trying to do one press-up or you're a seasoned athlete, the GREEN MILE instructors pride themselves on offering rapid progression and technique to all members abilities on this class.

BOOT CAMP (HIIT)

The GREEN MILE BOOT CAMP sessions are basically a type of high-intensity interval training (HIIT) — bursts of intense activity alternated with intervals of lighter activity. This is a full body circuit with a lot of flexibility, that's been used time and again with fantastic results.

AIM & BENFIT TO MEMBERS

Some of the most impressive benefits of the BOOTCAMP class includes burning calories, fat loss, increasing strength, boosting confidence, improving aerobic endurance, aid coordination, increasing balance, changing lifestyle outlook, and motivating long-term health.

The BOOT CAMP workout can also include functional fitness, such as using whole-body, multi-joint exercises that simulate movements you do in every day life. A real all-rounder!!

ABILITY

BOOTCAMP sessions are available to every level of fitness, zero to hero. The GREEN MILE instructors evaluate your level and push you to only what you are capable of. They track your progress and encourage your own progression journey.

WE ARE BORN TO RUN! THE GREEN MILE OFFERS THE BEST RUNNING EXPERIENCE AROUND.

Tarmac, grass, trails and hills…. We use all the incredible GREEN MILE routes, plus the surrounding forests, mountains and Taff Trails to offer the ultimate group running experiences about. 

 

AIM AND BENEFIT TO MEMBERS

To improve your speed, endurance and strength and resistance to injury. We use the full spectrum of running surfaces to rapidly improve members agility and joint strength. 

On some of our trails you need to plan and think about every step ahead of you, adjusting every step for different angles and grip, which activates stabilisers and endless micro movements in your knees, feet and ankles, that most people have never used by just running on the flat. This lack of these movements is what causes random injuries in everyday life and other sports. The GREEN MILE members have bullet proof knees and ankles! 

 

ABILITY

A reasonable level of fitness is required for these run specific classes. A good guide is being able to run a 5K on the flat in approx 26 mins or less. But don’t worry if you’re not quite there yet, attending a few of our other classes such as Bootcamp or the ‘Session of the Day’ will quickly get you ready.

THE SESSION OF THE DAY, DONT THINK, JUST TURN UP AND FOLLOW ALONG!

 

The “Session of the Day”, or SOD, is the signature GREEN MILE session. Each day, a new workout or session is posted, but remains secret until arrival. 

Using all the different skills and exercises you’ve gained in the other GREEN MILE sessions, the SOD is usually more of an ‘Event style’ session. Sometimes we use the whole GREEN MILE loop, obstacles and workout stations to offer the best training experience in town!! 

AIM & BENEFIT TO MEMBERS

The SOD is ultimate all rounder, cardio, skills, endurance and of course flexibility. Great fun but the exact session remains secret until arrival.

ABILITY

Similar to the BOOTCAMP session, the SOD is available to every level of fitness, zero to hero. The GREEN MILE instructors evaluate your level and only give you the exercises you are capable of doing. As with all sessions they track your progress and encourage your own personal progression journey.

 

LOCATION: Every part of the GREEN MILE Site. Meet at the Courtyard Gym near the Carpark.
